Due to a new basic structure of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security in Spain, the Instituto Nacional de Seguridad e Higiene en el Trabajo (INSHT) has been renamed into Instituto Nacional de Seguridad, Salud y Bienestar en el Trabajo (National Institute of Safety, Health and Wellbeing at Work). The new name adapts the OSH institute to the demand of a society that is more and more aware of occupational safety and health as a fundamental part of social welfare.

Additionally, D. Francisco Javier Maestro Acosta has been appointed the new director. Francisco Javier Maestro Acosta comes from the Directorate General of Relations with the Autonomous Communities and Reports on Social Security and Immigration and Emigration.

We are happy to have him on board also as a member of the PEROSH Steering Committee.
