In order to contribute to the OSH knowledge promotion, the INSHT has created a specific web site focused on selected topics where users can find easily documentation, scientific papers, risk assessment methods and other useful information, mainly in Spanish.
The so called “thematic portals” cover so far the following themes:
Personal protective equipment (PPE): This section provides information and advice about PPE use and suitable choice, structured into: legislation and guidelines; normalization and control entities; specific PPE information. This site also provides the possibility to formulate questions about this matter.
Ergonomics: This section provides not only technical information but also legislation and risk assessment tools.
Musculoskeletal Disorders: Aimed at OSH professionals, the site presents useful, scientific sound information about most frequent MSD, related risk factors and simple assessment tools and methods. Promoting good practices and improving training are elements included to facilitate better implementation in the enterprises.
Health promotion: This specific portal wants to boost the information exchange at a national and European level and create a forum to accomplish the European Network for Workplace Health Promotion (ENWHP) aims.
Psycho-sociology: This site gathers high quality information and tools regarding psycho-socials risks management, assessment and prevention.
Biological Risk: This section collects recent and scientific sound information related to biological risks, including main agents and diseases caused by them in the labour context and effective measures of control and prevention. Additionally, there is free assessment line on this topic.
Chemical Risk: Focused on chemical risks, this site has special sections on risk assessment, PPEs, storage or specific chemical agents, as well as REACH and GHS. This section includes free access to several databases.
Besides the risk-oriented websites, there are two sector-oriented sites, one of them focused on the Agriculture sector and another one dedicated to the self-employed truck drivers.
