The conference has a mental health focus, with Professor Neil Greenberg (Kings College, London), Professor Craig Jackson (Birmingham City University) and Peter Kelly a Psychologist from HSE. Dr Mike Isaac, a member of Royal College of Psychiatrists and chair of occupational health special interest group will be offering expert advice and there will be talks on:
- Military mental health with Dr Jeya Balakrishna’ Consultant Psychiatrist at the Ministry of Defence
- Men’s mental health with Dr Shaun Davis from Royal Mail Group.
- A safe mental health environment in the Construction Sector with Dr Lisa Curran, a Consultant in Occupational Medicine and Joscelyne Shaw, Executive Director, Mates in Mind.
- Suicide in anaesthetistswith Dr Steve Yentis Consultant Anaesthetist, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital.
Other speakers include Dame Carol Black, Diana Kloss, and Professor Gina Radford.
An excellent line-up of workplace visits is being organised by Transport for London and other locations (such as a Skanska building site) on the 25th June and Norman Lamb MP, the second Patron of the SOM, will be the after Dinner speaker on 26th June.
