Since its foundation in 1992, ELINYAE is the main institution for research, information, consultation, support and training in OSH in Greece and the official State consultant for OSH, according to Law 4808/2021.

ELINYAE is a non-profit organization, owned and directed by the social partner entities of Greece, General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE), Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV), Hellenic Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen & Merchants (GSEVEE), Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE), Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE) and Federation of Industries of Greece (SBE).

The vision of ELINYAE is to promote health and safety at work and to develop a prevention culture through cooperation of and for the benefit of enterprises, employees and society as a whole.

Our mission is to plan and implement activities and initiatives to improve working conditions and raise awareness among all stakeholders. Towards this mission we investigate the working conditions and conduct research and studies, either self-financed or funded, in cooperation with several national and international organizations. We train safety engineers, occupational physicians, employers and employees. We identify and assess harmful factors and agents in workplaces and provide investigation services for workplace accidents. We provide prompt and reliable information and documentation for occupational health and safety issues, including the main OSH legislation database in the country, updated daily. We regularly collaborate with Greek ministries, other institutions in Greece (Universities, Research Centers, Institutes of Social Partners, etc.) and abroad (e.g., European Organization for Safety and Health at Work, National Institutes for Health and Safety of European countries, Universities etc.). We operate the only specialized OSH library in Greece. We organize conferences and meetings at a national and European level, to identify todays and future challenges in occupational health and safety, to keep up with the recent development in the OSH field and to explore new topics in a constantly changing environment.

In accordance with the interdisciplinary nature of OSH, ELINYAE employs specialized and experienced scientists of all relevant specialties, both in its headquarters in Athens, as well as in its regional branches, in Thessaloniki and Ioannina.

As we are part of the world of work, we are all facing an increasing number of shared challenges, including high-speed technological transformation/ digitalization, new types of jobs, climate change etc. We find the same interest in solving pressing problems in the workplace and ensuring a healthy and safe work environment for everyone.
