November 27-30, 2023, Sydney will host the 23rd World Congress on Safety and Health at Work at the International Convention Centre, Sydney. This event is being co-organised by the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and SafeWork NSW.
The ISSA’s Special Commission on Prevention and its Prevention Sections will promote proactive social security and host the International Media Festival for Prevention.
The World Congress on Safety and Health at Work is a global forum for advancing worker health protection. It provides a platform for sharing experiences and information on occupational safety and health with the aim of prevention worldwide. The aims are to:
- Provide a forum for exchange of knowledge, practices and experience in order to promote safe and healthy work for all.
- Strengthen connections, networks and alliances while laying the groundwork for cooperation and strengthening relationships among all concerned.
- Provide a platform for knowledge, innovation, and strategic and practical ideas that can be immediately put into use.
Vision Zero
During the World Congress, you will have the opportunity to meet with the Vision Zero network. We will organize several Vision Zero Technical Sessions and Symposia on topics related to safety, health and wellbeing. We are also going to present new Vision Zero products, such as a new VZ Environmental Guide, a new VZ Wellbeing Guide and a new VZ Supply Chain Guide.

Call for abstracts
They are now accepting abstracts for speakers and poster presentations. Every interested speaker should submit an abstract via the Congress website, and the ISSA cannot guarantee any speaker slots without an abstract review. The deadline is 30 November 2022. The abstracts are awarded in April 2023.
