Climate change is driving significant transitions in businesses, and it’s crucial to include the work environment from the start. Norwegian workplaces are undergoing major transformations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change. This involves producing energy, transporting goods, and creating products in new ways. However, during these transitions, it’s essential not to deprioritize the work environment.

Therese Hanvold, Director of STAMI – The National Institute of Occupational Health in Norway, emphasizes the importance of maintaining a good work environment. A well-organized, planned, and executed work environment significantly impacts employees’ health, leading to lower absenteeism and better productivity. New tasks and methods bring new challenges, such as increased exposure to bacteria and fungi in waste management facilities. Addressing these challenges with new knowledge and preventive measures is vital for employee health and overall business success.
