Early September, STAMI proudly participated in the PEROSH conference in Manchester, where 110 researchers from across Europe gathered to share cutting-edge findings in occupational safety and health. Among the highlights: STAMI’s own Christine Darbakk, Ph.D. student in the Chemistry department, received the Early Stage Researcher Award for her outstanding presentation!
Christine’s project, titled “Occupational exposure and inflammatory potential of bioaerosols in the food industry”, tackles a critical and often overlooked issue in workplace health. The award committee praised her for addressing a highly relevant topic with scientific rigor and engaging delivery.
Her work contributes to the broader themes of the conference, which included disruptive innovation, emerging OSH risks, and chemical safety—all vital areas for the future of occupational health.
👏 Congratulations to Christine and the STAMI team for bringing home this recognition and continuing to push the boundaries of research!
