One of the objectives of horizon scanning performed by INRS’s Horizon Scanning and Strategic Foresight Mission is to provide critical feedback on the drivers of change identified by the mission a few years ago, to determine whether they are relevant in the light of today’s realities.

This fourth edition of the state of horizon scanning for the year 2020 proposes an overview of new trends in the world of work, with the goal of describing or updating elements previously highlighted and better apprehending future work situations, as well as their impact on occupational risk prevention. The pandemics and its possible consequences for future as well as other topics such as robotics, platform workers are discussed.
