More people report mental health issues due to work

More employees report work-related mental health issues

New data from STAMI show that a growing share of employees experience mental health problems linked to their work. Around 19 percent report that their symptoms are work-related, with the highest levels found in sectors such as health and social care, education, and service industries.

Emotional demands, high workload, and negative social experiences such as bullying or threats are key risk factors. At the same time, research highlights that these challenges can be prevented through systematic work environment efforts.
