European WHO Collaborating Centres Meeting
On 6 May 2025, the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) in Berlin hosted a significant meeting of the European WHO Collaborating Centres. This event brought together experts and representatives from various institutions to discuss the importance of international collaboration in occupational safety and health (OSH). Key perspectives were shared by Dorota Jarosinska from WHO, William Cockburn-Salazar from EU-OSHA, and Steffen Bohni Nielsen from PEROSH.
The agenda included presentations from institutions across Europe, such as the National Centre of Public Health and Analysis in Bulgaria, BAuA in Germany, INAIL in Italy, and the Institute of Occupational Medicine in North Macedonia. The meeting also explored potential future collaborations through interactive exchanges of wishes and needs.
Workshop on Healthy Healthcare
Following the WHO Collaborating Centres meeting, an international workshop titled “Healthy Healthcare in a Post-Pandemic World: Approaches for the Improvement of Working Conditions in European Hospitals” took place on 7 May 2025 at BAuA in Berlin. This workshop aimed to address the working conditions of healthcare workers and propose appropriate work design interventions.
The workshop featured a keynote by Prof. Dr. Nico Dragano from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, discussing work in healthcare after the Covid-19 pandemic. Other notable speakers included Dr. Dorota Jarosinska from WHO Bonn and William Cockburn from EU-OSHA, and Joan Kleine from the Technical University of Berlin. The event also included a poster session on effective work organisation in hospital wards.
