The CONCERT project, funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 program and involving CIOP-PIB, has developed an advanced AI-powered collaborative robot (cobot) designed to improve safety and efficiency at construction sites.

This cobot can perform tasks like supervised drilling, insulation spraying, and assembling formwork elements, all while ensuring worker safety by reducing exposure to hazardous materials and minimizing physical strain. The robot’s AI system analyzes data from sensors to interpret worker commands and adjust its operations accordingly. On a hospital construction site in Poland, workers gave the cobot high ratings for safety, acceptability, dependability, and satisfaction, with low anxiety about job displacement, indicating a positive reception.
