The Institute for Occupational Safety and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance (IFA) supports the Accident Insurance Institutions, as well as the companies and establishments insured by them, in enhancing workplace safety and health in response to climate change challenges.

The IFA conducts extensive research and provides expert consultation on specific scientific and technical issues. Recognizing the growing significance of climate change in occupational health and safety, the IFA has established a Competence Centre for Climate Change and Occupational Safety and Health.

This centre aims to centralize IFA’s expertise on the impacts of climate change on worker safety and health, further develop this knowledge base, and foster collaboration with other entities within the DGUV and individual German Social Accident Insurance Institutions.

The Competence Centre maintains a dedicated website offering background information, detailing ongoing projects, publications, and other pertinent resources related to climate change and OSH. The entire information is now available in English, too.
