From April 28th to May 3rd, 2024, in Marrakesh, Morocco
At the occasion of the 34th ICOH 2024 conference, INRS organised a symposium entitled “Work in 2040, foresight studies and OSH issues”, chaired by Marc Malenfer, head of the INRS Watch and Foresight. Two presentations were given:
The first one by Jennifer Clerté (INRS) was dedicated to the innovative foresight exercise conducted by INRS in 2023 on the evolution of work management and its implications for occupational health and safety.
The second one by Xabier Irastorza from European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) gave an overview of the EU OSHA’s foresight activity with a focus on digitalization.
Those presentations were followed by a panel discussion on the benefits of foresight activities for occupational health and safety institutes, with the participation of:
- William Cockburn (EU OSHA),
- Paul Schulte (Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International, previously NIOSH),
- Yogindra Samant (Arbeidstilsynet, Norway),
- Manal Azzi (ILO),
- Louis Laurent (INRS, Scientific Director).
This symposium ended by the announcement of the FOSH (Foresight for OSH) conference organized by INRS in partnership with IFA, NIOSH, EU OSHA and PEROSH which will take place in Paris the 14 of November.
