The 34th ICOH 2024 Congress held in Marrakesh, Morocco, from April 28th to May 3rd, 2024, saw PEROSH (Partnership for European Research in Occupational Safety and Health) taking center stage with a special session organized during the event. Chaired by Steffen Bohni, PEROSH’s Vice-Chair, the session featured five insightful presentations, each shedding light on various facets of occupational safety and health research.
The session commenced with an overview of PEROSH members, emphasizing both their shared objectives and their unique contributions to the field. Following this, attention turned to the Sheffield Group, an alliance of OSH research institutes worldwide, explored in detail by Andrew Curran from HSE.
Subsequent talks delved into specific initiatives undertaken by PEROSH members:
- Steffen Bohni of NFA discussed a mapping exercise of the PEROSH network in occupational safety and health.
- Andrew Curran from HSE elucidated on the Sheffield Group’s pivotal role in global OSH research endeavors.
- Noortje Wiezer of TNO presented approaches to addressing mental health concerns in the Netherlands.
- Nader Ahmadi from SAWEE examined the enduring impact of managerial work situations during the Covid-19 pandemic on relationship-oriented leadership.
- Therese Hanvold of STAMI provided insights into the Norwegian Surveillance System for Work Environment and Occupational Health.
Additionally, Louis Laurent, Chair of the PEROSH steering committee, delivered a semi-plenary talk, offering a comprehensive overview of research conducted within the PEROSH network.

In total, approximately 30 researchers representing various PEROSH member institutes participated in ICOH 2024, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and collaboration in the field of occupational safety and health.
