The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH) has recently launched several significant projects focusing on improving work life and employee well-being. One of the notable ongoing projects is the “Workplaces as Climate Actors – TILKE” running from August 2022 to April 2025. This project aims to develop sustainable solutions through co-creation to support workplaces in their role as climate actors. It focuses on integrating environmental sustainability into workplace practices, thereby helping organizations to contribute positively to climate goals while ensuring the well-being and productivity of employees.
Another significant initiative is the “COMMUTE” project, which started in January 2023 and will continue until March 2025. This project focuses on promoting healthy, safe, and climate-friendly commuting practices. It aims to develop strategies that encourage sustainable commuting options, improve employees’ physical health, and reduce the environmental impact of daily travel.
These projects reflect FIOH’s commitment to addressing contemporary challenges in occupational health by integrating environmental sustainability and well-being into the workplace. For more details on these and other projects, you can visit the FIOH project page.
