Barcelona, 8 July 2024 – The SAbyNA project, under the Horizon 2020 program by the European Commission, has successfully concluded after over four years of diligent work. Coordinated by Dr. Socorro Vázquez-Campos from Leitat, the project has birthed a web-based Guidance Platform to advance the safe and sustainable development of nanomaterials and nano-enabled products.
The SAbyNA Guidance Platform offers crucial resources for designers, developers, and researchers in nanotechnology. Its tools and guidelines particularly benefit the Paints and Additive Manufacturing sectors, promoting safety and sustainability from the early stages of product design.
By proactively assessing safety, SAbyNA aims to protect workers, consumers, and the environment while maintaining the innovative benefits of nanotechnology. The platform provides comprehensive guidelines, assessment tools, and data resources for evaluating and enhancing the safety and sustainability of nanomaterials throughout their lifecycle.
Dr. Socorro Vázquez-Campos highlights, “SAbyNA has paved the way for safer nanotechnology. Our platform is a powerful tool for driving innovation while ensuring safety and sustainability.”
