This publication is the result of the PEROSH joined research project Ergo FireFighter.
An assessment was made of the subjective perceptions of the perceived thermal comfort, physiological strain and ergonomics of the firefighters wearing protective clothing in various European countries by literature research. An analysis took place of potential smart wearable solutions to be applied in protective clothing for firefighters in order to improve their safety and comfort. Additionally, an analysis was performed of the requirements that must be met by protective clothing for firefighters in different European countries in Europe. Finally, a summary is given of the fabrics used for optimal thermal performance of the clothing.
The projectleader was M. Mlynarczyk from CIOP-PIB.
